Zorro "the gay blade" on taxes...

I recently saw this movie again for the first time in close to 20 years...I think I was a child in living in Hawaii when it came out....I forgot how funny it was. This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie- I appreciate it more now, because the evil "Alcalde" is actually more like today's U.S. government, and Zorro is like the politician fighting for the earnings of "the pipples"...hysterical movie- see it if you can still find it!

The U.S. Tax system (in layman's terms)

Taxes And Beer
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1.The sixth would pay $3.The seventh would pay $7.The eighth would pay $12.The ninth would pay $18.The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers, he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.And so: The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings)The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings). Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant the men began to compare their savings. 'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!' 'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!' 'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D. Professor of Economics, University of Georgia.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. And that my Happy readers is why Europe is in a flat tax revolution of a life time, country after country battling each other for jobs and growth which are necessary in any economy that wants to keep growing. I'm not an economist, but I do know that it's not the poor and decrepit that buy yachts and mansions that pay for the gardener and the landscaper and the housekeeper. It's not the poor and decrepit that support the economy by quitting high school to work at burger king to pay for their 22 inch rims on their souped up Neon instead of going to school, educating themselves and being an economic producer.Right now, 50% of our population pays no federal income tax. You have asked an entire generation of producers who generated their income potential through hard work, sacrifice and determination and education. We as a nation are asking them to provide more and more for a population to accept mediocrity. To accept the government as their savior. To forgo self worth and determination to create their own destiny. We are asking productive citizens to support the non-productive citizens. To sacrifice their delayed gratification so the consumers can support their habits. As more and more manufacturing jobs leave in favor of better economic environments our service oriented economy will require education as a premise for financial stability. As a nation, I suspect we will get exactly what we wish for. A dumbing down of risk and sacrifice that creates greatness, in favor of mediocrity. Watch as America continues to dumb itself down in favor of social equalism at the risk or foregoing exceptional success. If you want to punish hard working successful business men and women for getting that American dream, prepare yourselves for an eflux of wealth and determination to countries that understand the basic concept. Punishing success while supporting economic mediocrity is a recipe for disaster.Good Luck America. You're going to need it.

Aloha! Universal Healthcare drowns in Hawaii

“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”
Michelle Obama

Let me preface this by first saying, "I get it". I understand why so many Americans are enthralled with the idea of universal health care. There are alot of problems with the healthcare system as it exists today in this country. I am not one of those who says that America has the greatest healthcare system in the world, so take it or leave it, because that simply isn't true, at least not entirely. America has the greatest medical technology in the world, and the greatest hospitals in the world. This is mostly because our free-market approach the the matter allows doctors, scientists, and healthcare employees to compete for, and excel at the science of caring for their fellow man. We have the best track record in the world for treating ALL diseases and ailments and,for the most-part, all Americans have access to the system. Current statistics show that about 30 million people in this country do not presently have health insurance. This amounts to less than 10 percent of the population, closer to 7 percent in a country of 400 million. Our problems lie more within a segment of the healthcare system rather than the whole thing. Insurance companies are making it difficult for the average person with a pre-existing condition to qualify for even the most basic coverage, and the fact is that almost all of us, in one way or another, have a pre-existing condition of some sort. So the health insurance companies are basically saying, "we will cover you, except for the condition that could actually kill you...". This problem lies mostly in the fact that we are the most litigious society on earth. We sue if we spill a cup of coffee in our laps, or if we gain a few pounds from too much Mickey-D's. Malpractice suits since the 60's have drained our healthcare system of billions and billions of dollars, all the while failing to change the system for the better. The fact is, and call me cold, but, if you are human, you will die one day- I have accepted this as part of my life, and so should you...if you sue a doctor because he/she made a small mistake that probably didn't cost a loved one their life, but you want the money anyhow, isn't that in fact contributing to the problem of high insurance premiums? Face it, if a doctor has to have a multi-million dollar insurance policy just in case he makes an all-too human mistake, he is going to pass the cost on to...guess who? You! Those premiums are costing doctors over 100 thousand dollars a year in payments, and that is before they actually tack money on for the service they provide. So, first solution: Tort Reform- John Edwards made over 50 million dollars on one lawsuit, in which he sued a group of doctors over a death that was caused by the genes of the victim, and not the skills of the practitioner. That 50 million dollars is coming out of your pocket, in the form of insurance premiums. 50 million dollars amounts to about 80 cents per man, woman and child going into that bloodsucker's pocket...and he almost became V.P.

One of the countrys that Americans look to as a beacon of hope for Universal coverage is Canada. I have nothing against Canada, they are nice people (except for the French in Quebec), and have great syrup.Their healthcare system, however, sucks...thats right, it SUCKS. Everyone in Canada is covered and can go to the doctor for minor ailments, but guess what, you can do that here too...

If you are REALLY sick, you have to wait up to 6 months to see a specialist, and if you need an MRI, the wait can be up to two months. They only have 222 MRI machines in the entire country of 40 million people..http://www.lufa.ca/news/news_item.asp?NewsID=4414. The United States, however, has over 8000 MRI machines in a country of 400 million-ten times the population, but 36 times the number of machines- this is the same with all specialized equipment. This is because the Socialist health-care system they have in place cannot afford to cover everyone in the country AND provide good service, unless they want to pay 75% of their incomes to the government. Can you imagine the cost to a country like ours of 10 times the population? Sorry liberals, the math just doesn't work. Our northern states are flooded with Canadians coming in to have procedures done in our hospitals because the wait is too long in their own country, and the quality sucks. In the few states (such as the above-mentioned Hawaii) where they HAVE tried similar plans to Canada's, they have had to quickly abandon them.http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5hLmnk2nJW1GlWETxZ5EknjKJCYgg Why, you ask? Because it is too expensive, and because the people who have their own insurance policies quickly end them so that they are not being double charged for Health insurance. Paying once to the state in high taxes, and paying for their private coverage too....get it?

We have to figure out another way to solve the problem,(it is a problem, and not a crisis, as the media would have you believe). The free market has made us the most prosperous and healthy country in the world, and it can also lead the way in healthcare....we just have to put folks like John Edwards behind bars, so that our costs don't break the backs of the doctors that are helping us.

The other solution is to hold people accountable for their own children. There are folks in this country who spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars per month on fancy clothes, video games, and IPODs for their children, but don't buy health insurance. Is it really fair to blame the industry for not doing their job for free, when you should be taking responsibility for your own family? The old, crude saying "if you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em" should apply here...take responsibilty for yourself and your own family- and don't hire the government to steal the cost of your irresponsibility from those of us who already do...

Remember Warrant? Check out their new lead singer...incredible

I am having a hard time posting the URL for some reason, so here is a link to the montage. The background vocals during "Heaven" are horrible, but the rest is great

I'm a huge Jani Lane fan..one of the greatest songwriters of my era- but if this guy can write half as well as he can sing, Jani's retirement will be permanent...Robert Mason (the Lynch Mob, Cry of Love, Big Cock)...and him performing another classic Warrant song "sure feels good" from the classic Cherry Pie album...http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=43541494

Global Warming again? Hmmm...not according to reality

Below are the links to 3 more articles debunking the idea that the earth is warming...all of these came out in the same day. My questions to you are moral ones.

Why would you really want to believe that we as human beings are capable of doing the sort of damage to our planet that Al Gore says we are?

What purpose does it serve in your heart to believe that the United States population ignores the subject because its citizens are greedy and evil?

There is a mountain of real scientific proof that the whole movement is a scam, why won't you read it?

Do you WANT to believe that it is true? Why?

I have shown documented proof on this blog of the intentions of the folks pushing this farce- have you read it?

anyway....here is some more, if you care.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/53884.html... the Alaskan glaciers have grown this year, not melted...

http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20081014/NEWS/810140335/-1/frontpage?Title=Frost__one_more_thing__for_grape_growers ....California winerys are having a hard time harvesting grapes this year because of the frost- its cooler there now than it has been since the 1800's

Don't give me the bait-and-switch either. Don't sell "Global Warming" and then give me "Climate Change" when your facts don't add up. You can admit that you're wrong, its ok, but the question then follows, what else are you wrong about? Betcha don't want to face that one huh?

note from the blogger:
this text is taken directly from the manifesto- nothing has been altered- if you doubt me, read it for yourself here. It comes from Section II, entitled, "proletarians and communists"...http://www.anu.edu.au/polsci/marx/classics/manifesto.html

who sounds like this, and who doesn't? I'll assume you'll think about it...

So...who saw the current economic problems 2 years ago?

Attached is a letter to congress from Senate Republicans demanding preemptive action reagarding the matter of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ...not ONE single Democrat acknowledged or signed this request. Why is it that Republicans always have the understanding and wisdom to forsee a problem- the Democrats always call them hysterical? The Green Day song "American Idiot" mentions an age of hysteria, sung by a man who wears a red Star on his lapel...who's the American Idiot now huh? When the problems actually come to fruition , the Socialist Democrats point the finger back at the very people they ignored...Notice that a certain John McCain's signature is on here, and notice that a certain Barack Obama's signature is not....have a better look at the letter here...http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=28973 Barack Obama and the media say that this letter doesn't exist- and you believe them.
How long are you going to allow yourselves to be brainwashed by the media, and a man's ablility to give a good speech? When are you going to wake up and become responsible adult Americans and vote for substance over style? If Socialists take over this country, the last thing you are going to worry about is how good your health insurance is...just take a look at Russia, Cuba, China...hell, take a look at Europe...its no paradise for the middle class...

Ronald McDonald for President!

He is a fresh new face on the political scene- he promises change! (what kind of change could this man bring upon the country) It doesn't matter, because change is good, no matter what kind it is right?

Honestly folks, I have discovered after years of trying to reason with liberals that you have to talk to them much like children. You have to get their attention, and keep them from squirming in their seats as you try to educated them (they are much like children with ADD). Reasoning with a liberal is very much like trying to prove to a child that there is no Santa Clause...they don't believe you no matter what the evidence is, because they FEEL so strongly that it is true. A liberal FEELS strongly that war is never good, the rich should shoulder the fiscal bill for the rest of us, Conservatives are racist, Healthcare should be "free", and Michael Moore tells the truth- when the TRUTH is always the opposite of what they feel.

War created this country, freed the slaves, defeated the Nazi's, and has kept Jihad confined to their own part of the world.

Taxing the rich ALWAYS destroys the economy, because the rich are the ones who start the business and create the jobs, and class-warfare is a Marxist concept to start with.

Conservatives fought to free the slaves, the right for women to vote, and passed the civil rights act of 1964...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964. (The democrats were the ones who fought it tooth and nail)

Healthcare in the United States is the greatest in the world- folks from other parts of the world come HERE to have serious work done, and U.S. citizens NEVER go there for the same. Healthcare is not a right- you have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have the right to vote. You have a right to keep and bear arms. You have a right to peacefully assemble. You have a right to privacy. You have the right to say what you want without fear of lawful retribution (unless you're a conservative- then you get audited or slandered). Had liberals left healthcare alone to begin with, it wouldn't be in crisis as it is today. Everytime the government intervenes in the free market, it screws up. There was a time not too long ago, when any American could see a doctor at a reasonable price, Hell, the doctors used to make housecalls! Not since the government got involved! I should do an entire piece on this travesty alone...

Michael Moore tells half-truths. Here is an example: I walk up to a person in the supermarket who is looking for milk, and I tell them it is down "aisle 2". The person walks to that aisle and finds only candy, tells me that was what they found, and I respond "no, I told you the truth. That aisle does have milk on it- milk chocolate". This is known as a half-truth, just enough to make it believable, but no less an actual lie. Michael Moore has done this his entire career, and it is easily provable- here are a few examples: Bowling for Columbine http://www.mooreexposed.com/bfc.html

Farenheit 911... this one is so packed with lies, that I don't even have the finger strength to type them all in here, so here is a SMALL sample...http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm...

Michael is a dedicated Socialist, and traitor to this country. The last time the cinema was used to sway the public like this was in Nazi Germany.- how anyone can watch and believe anything that this man puts out to the public is beyond the pale. He counts on the fact that the average American liberal won't take the time to put any thought or research into the facts, and thus, would rather watch a movie to make up their minds.

I am not in the mindset of keeping it civil right now...we have an unqualified, socialist, motivational speaker running on the left side of the equation, and the thorn in the side of the Republicans running on the right side...I will always vote against the socialist, so obviously you know who I will vote for. The fact is, my vote will never punish or hurt anyone (and don't give me that Iraq war bullshit, we haven't been attacked here at home since it started)-can you say the same about your vote?

If in this topsy-turvy election cycle, you REALLY need change, and don't care what kind...write in Ronald..at least no citizens will get hurt, and we may actually get a free Big Mac and a smile in the process...
